There is an old saying in Asia.
If you are planning for a year, sow rice;
If you are planning for a decade, plant trees;
If you are planning for a lifetime, educate people.
Education is an engine for change. While India's economy is growing by leaps and bounds, many still do not have access to learning opportunities. The best hope to making a lasting and transformative change is to give all of India’s children access to quality education – education that gives them the tools to help themselves.
With the support of countless volunteers and donors, CLT has been working since 1997 to give children in rural, under-served areas education they deserve.
In India the smallest donations can work wonders. The needs of rural, under-served schools are basic to complex.

Every Bit Helps:-
When we say the smallest amount helps, we mean it. Our funds go toward a wide variety of needs that include giving e-learning resources and computers to village schools as well as providing school uniforms, milk for undernourished neighborhood kids or college scholarships for some of the best and brightest. Anything you can give will make a huge difference, thank you.
With peoples’ support, to make a difference in the lives of children, we have provided the following programs over the years –
- Development of educational content to support State Board syllabus
- Online Teaching
- DVD Libraries of e-lesson modules
- Computers and DVD players
- Teachers’ Workshops for teaching with ICT Tools
- College Scholarship Fund
- Extra set of uniforms
- Additional teachers
- Field trips
- Construction of classrooms and kitchens
- Furniture for the teachers’ room and classrooms
- Books for the library
- Summer Camps
- Art and Theater
- Mid-Day Meals (1997-2004)
- Village tailoring units for women
- Milk program for 5 and under
Our e-Patashale educational solution brings top-tier teachers with their best teaching practices face-to-face with the students in the rural schools and communities. Technology makes it possible for our teachers to interact with the kids immediately. e-Patashale content is also absorbed easily as it is designed to the unique needs and learning styles of village children.
With your generous gift, plant the seed to revolutionize education to village children!

Adopt a Teacher:
We need many teachers and resource people to develop content and teach in all subjects in local languages. It might be hard to imagine, but $2,700 (about Rs. 10,000 per month) can support a teacher at our Resource Center for a whole year to develop lesson modules and do on-line teaching to many rural schools simultaneously! At CLT we have worked to make every dollar or rupee count.

The gift of your time can mean the world to a child. If you have been looking for a place to volunteer and help, look no further. Since CLT’s inception in 1997, we have worked with countless volunteers to help children in need. The opportunities to lend a hand and make a difference with us are numerous.

We have worked with volunteers from all over the world – individuals and corporate groups – and they all leave touched by the experience. We are always looking for subject matter experts to improve our education efforts. However, simply giving your time to a child, providing one on one interaction and listening to her/him can make more of an impact in their lives than you can imagine.

Our volunteers share their experience:
“My volunteer experience at CLT was enriching on a professional level. Through 2 projects: Content Management System and the development of VB applications, I have broadened my programming skills and gained some expertise”-- Francois Bouchart, Computer Engineering and National University of Singapore.
“I honestly feel an added sense of satisfaction from work because I know I’m helping to further a noble cause. When I think about it, the other reason I keep coming back is the friends I’ve made. Nowhere have I felt more welcome, love and warmth” -- Nigel Lauw, Mass Communication and National University of Singapore.
